The first afternoon in Ninh Binh I made a visit to Tam Coc, an idyllic village several kilometres outside of town; it proved to be just what I needed. Nothing but water grottoes, caves, islands and beautiful, rural and simple countryside. I spent the rest of the afternoon walking through the various, small villages, chatting with the locals and capturing some colourful portraits.
